What file formats does slydr index?
slydr indexes PowerPoint (.pptx) files. We use OpenXML SDK to extract text, metadata, and generate slide thumbnails. Support for additional formats is on the roadmap.
Can we run slydr on our own servers?
Yes. The Enterprise plan includes full self-hosted deployment. Your slides never leave your infrastructure. We provide deployment guides and dedicated onboarding support.
How does indexing work?
Point slydr at a folder or repository. The indexing pipeline extracts text, generates thumbnails, and pushes everything to OpenSearch. Incremental indexing keeps it current automatically.
Is there an AI component?
slydr is a retrieval platform, not an AI generator. We use OpenSearch for fast, accurate text retrieval — not LLMs. What you get back are real slides your organization already created.
Does it work with SharePoint and OneDrive?
SharePoint and cloud storage integrations are on the roadmap. The current version indexes local and network folder sources. Enterprise customers can discuss custom integration during onboarding.
How is it different from SharePoint search?
SharePoint searches at the file level. slydr searches at the slide level, returns visual thumbnails, and lets you insert directly into PowerPoint. It's an entirely different experience.
